SYLLABUS SUPPLEMENT - Home

MAKE-UP EXAM POLICY (Note: Anything that's flexible is relatively complicated.)

·         No make-ups will be allowed (read provisions below).

·         A score equal to the final exam score will replace any missed test* grade (for only 1 missed test**, and only if the final exam is taken at the scheduled time).

·         For students that took all tests, if the final exam grade is higher than the lowest test grade, a grade equal to the final exam grade will replace the lowest test grade.

·         If the final exam grade is lower than all tests, test grades will be left as they were.

·         The final exam grade will still count as the final exam grade.

·         If a student misses a second test, a zero will be assigned**.

·         If a student misses the final exam and ALL other tests have been taken, under some circumstances, a FE grade of 50% of the average of the tests will be used as the FE grade** (this is NOT guaranteed).  The FE grade will NOT replace the ltest grade even if it is higher.

·         If the FE is missed and all tests have not been taken, the FE GRADE WILL REMAIN 0.

·         No other lowest scores will be replaced.  No grades will be "dropped".

Example 1: Missed test of 00 (zero)

Low Test higher than FE so not replaced by 65

Final exam grade of 0 was replaced by 50% of the Tests average since all Tests were taken.

LATE ASSIGNMENT POLICY

Assignments not submitted in class on the day due will be late.  Late assignments will have 50% taken off and will not be accepted after 1 week.

** If a student MISSES A SECOND TEST and the reason is because of a (documented) substantiated emergency such as a confining illness, a serious accident or the death of an immediate relative, the student will be allowed to make up the SECOND test (the first is covered by the Final Exam and cannot be made up due to that provision).  Students are responsible for immediately informing their instructors when they must miss class sessions for emergency reasons.
