GOALS 1. Have extended their general knowledge of statistical analysis to include descriptive research, searching for relationships, comparing a sample to a population, and groups within the sample. 2. Be able to use an appropriate software package to analyze data. 3. Be able to retrieve means, medians, modes, standard deviations, and other measures to describe the typical characteristics of the sample. 4. Be able to produce graphs and charts appropriate for describing the sample including pie charts, bar charts, histograms, and X-Y line graphs, frequency and relative frequency tables. 5. Be able to obtain Pearson's correlation, scatter-plots, and find and interpret the equation of regression lines. 6. Be able to obtain Chi-square values for testing independence and goodness-of-fit. 7. Be able to use and interpret cross-tabulations (contingency table). 8. Be able to perform and interpret the ANOVA hypothesis test. |
