Should a hurricane strike any of NSU's campuses or sites this year, information will be accessible through telephone hotlines, on the NSU home page and through the news media. Information will also be available on the NSU weather hotline by calling (954) 262-7300.
Just prior to, during and in the aftermath of a hurricane,
the NSU home page will contain information about campus closings and
re-openings. New information will be posted on the telephone hotlines and on
the NSU website as frequently as required by changing conditions, but at least
twice a day during a crisis situation.
While no amount of planning can offer total protection against communication
breakdowns, this multi-channel approach will help keep everyone informed. We
encourage you to review the NSU emergency procedures by visiting the NSU Public
Safety Web site. And, for a listing of hurricane information resources, visit
